This book is taken place in the Ozark Mountains in the early 1960's. The main character is a young boy named Billy who loves going hunting whenever he can after he obtains his two "dream" dogs. With them he has many adventures and experiences some of the greatest things in his life and some of the biggest trajedies in his life. He and his dogs get into a huge and dangerous predicament that changes his life forever.
